PER­RYVILLE — The first turf field at a county high school was of­fi­cially opened Fri­day night dur­ing a unique rib­bon cut­ting cer­e­mony at Perr yville High School.

The turf field, which was put in over the sum­mer, is the first of five turf fields ex­pected to be in­stalled at county high schools through a col­lab­o­ra­tion be­tween Cecil County Pub­lic Schools and the Cecil County De­part­ment of Parks and Re­cre­ation. D’Ette Devine, CCPS su­per­in­ten­dent, said the project has cre­ated quite the buzz through­out the school sys­tem.

“This is an­other ex­am­ple of the strong bond in Cecil County,” Devine said.
