SHOP WITH A COP First Annual ‘Shop with a Cop — Cecil County’ Charity Softball Exhibition Game and Home Run Derby
The ApeNation LLC presents the first annual “Shop with a Cop — Cecil County” Charity Softball Exhibition Game and Home Run Derby Saturday, Oct. 7. The game, featuring Team EShore vs. Team Inferno Sports will take place at 1 p. m. Following the game, there will be a home run derby open to the public.
All proceeds will be benefiting the SWACCC Foundation, a foundation dedicated to helping families in need. This foundation pairs volunteers with local police to shop for food and gifts for those in need around the holiday.

LITTLE LEAGUE Chesapeake City L.L.
Chesapeake City Little League will hold annual officer elections on Oct. 10 at 6 p.m. If interested in serving on the board, call Larry Crouse at 443-309-0991 for more information.
CECIL COUNTY PARKS & RECREATION Dance
Classes will be offered for children ages 3-13 including: Progressive Movement (35), Ballet I (6-9), Ballet II (10-13). The next session will start in mid – late October. Programs are currently offered on Thursday evenings. Cost is $32 for a six week session. Registration is now open and can be done at cecilrec.com.
Certified trainer Kathryn Boris will lead Level 1 training at the Rising Sun Community Center every Friday, from 6 -7 p.m. The next class will start in late October or early November. Six week program with a focus on positive reinforcement to correct and teach proper behavior. Dogs must be at least 16 weeks old. Cost is $110. Register at cecilrec.com.
Sports and Arts (After the Bell)
Open to students at Bay View, Calvert and Rising Sun Elementary schools. The goal of the program is to provide an affordable, structured, Sports and Arts Club where students can continue their daily activities at the Cecil Arena. Sports & Arts will run Monday — Friday each week starting Sept. 5 thru the end of the school year. 4 — 5:30 each day. Cost of the program is $15 per week. For more information check out cecilrec.com.
Sports Academy (Preschool and Homeschool)
Sports Academy will help lay a foundation to build soccer skills. This class will teach sportsmanship, dribbling, passing and shooting with games and contests. We look forward to seeing you on the field! Session starts Nov. 7. The cost is $32 for the 6 week program.
After School Programs
There are a wide array of after school opportunities at various schools around the county including: Capture the Treasure (Conowingo), Kickball (RSES), Sports Mix (Chesapeake City), and Mov-

YMCA YMCA Youth Basketball Program
First come, first serve only. Open spaces filling up quickly.
Players are taught basketball fundamentals and given the opportunity to demonstrate their learned skills in games. All players are placed on teams within their geographic school location. No phone-in registrations are accepted! For students grades 1-8.
Teams practice once a week in their community and play an eight-game schedule at the YMCA. Every player will receive a new YMCA Basketball Reversable TankTop.
A new “Run with the Big Dawgs” season-ending tournament will be free for the older division, boys and girls. Fee: $65 per person. Fundraising Fee: $10 per child due at registration. For more information call 410-392-YMCA
