Police identify suspect in motel robbery
ELKTON — Police have identified a North East man as the suspect in an armed robbery that took place at the Knights Inn on Belle Hill Road Friday just after 10 p.m.
Andrew Tuer, first sergeant of special operations for the Elkton Police Department, said an arrest warrant has been issued for Charles Frederick Todd, 24. According to the EPD Facebook page, Todd should be considered armed and dangerous.
The suspect entered the lobby of the motel at 10:17 p.m., implied he had a weapon, and demanded money. He then fled on foot toward Belle Hill Road, but Tuer said the suspect had been seen in surveillance video at other area businesses.
“Twenty five minutes before the robbery he was seen walking through the Carroll store,” Tuer said Saturday, referring to the gas station and convenience store nearby. “He had on the same clothes, same shoes.”
Tuer said after detectives were tipped off to his identity after they found Todd’s Facebook page where a photo was posted of the North East man in the same outfit.
These still photos from the surveillance cameras in the lobby of the Knights Inn Motel in Elkton were taken during a Friday night armed robbery. Police have identified the suspect as Charles Frederick Todd and have issued a warrant for his arrest.
