Penrow and Panthers sink the Mariners
One score was all Perryville needed to leave Joppatowne with a victory.
Christian Penrow hauled in a 45-yard touchdown in the first half and the defense pitched a shutout as the Panthers defeated the host Mariners in Susquehanna Division football action on Friday.
Perryville (3-3 overall, 1-1 division) earned back-to-back wins for the first time this season, while Joppatowne fell to 1-5 overall and 1-2 in the lower division.
Tigers can’t corral Cougars
It was a long road trip for the Rising Sun football team.
Traveling cross-state to Frederick County, the Tigers fell to host Catoctin 33-13 in non-conference action on Friday.
Dustin Flowers picked up 52 yards and a touchdown on 10 carries and Justin Brooks carried five times for 31 yards, while Noah Boyd rumbled for 173 yards and a score on 26 carries.

James Baglio carried 24 times for 163 yards and two touchdowns, Darnel Coursey had eight runs for 58 yards, one score and one lost fumble and Tyler Kelley carried twice for 24 yards for the Eagles (3-3 overall, 2-1 Susquehanna), who rushed for 300 total yards as an offense.
Bo Manor also received two carries for 24 yards from Jake Harris and two runs for 19 yards and a touchdown from Christian-Ford Holt.
Harris, the quarterback, completed
6-of-13 passes for 102 yards and a touchdown pass to Franky Baglio, who ended with three catches for 24 yards.
The Huskies fall to 0-5 overall and 0-3 in the lower division.
