Pen­row and Pan­thers sink the Mariners


One score was all Per­ryville needed to leave Jop­pa­towne with a vic­tory.

Chris­tian Pen­row hauled in a 45-yard touch­down in the first half and the de­fense pitched a shutout as the Pan­thers de­feated the host Mariners in Susque­hanna Di­vi­sion foot­ball ac­tion on Fri­day.

Per­ryville (3-3 over­all, 1-1 di­vi­sion) earned back-to-back wins for the first time this sea­son, while Jop­pa­towne fell to 1-5 over­all and 1-2 in the lower di­vi­sion.

Tigers can’t cor­ral Cougars

It was a long road trip for the Ris­ing Sun foot­ball team.

Trav­el­ing cross-state to Fred­er­ick County, the Tigers fell to host Ca­toctin 33-13 in non-con­fer­ence ac­tion on Fri­day.

Dustin Flow­ers picked up 52 yards and a touch­down on 10 car­ries and Justin Brooks car­ried five times for 31 yards, while Noah Boyd rum­bled for 173 yards and a score on 26 car­ries.

Bo­hemia Manor 35, Pat­ter­son Mill 14

James Baglio car­ried 24 times for 163 yards and two touch­downs, Dar­nel Coursey had eight runs for 58 yards, one score and one lost fum­ble and Tyler Kel­ley car­ried twice for 24 yards for the Ea­gles (3-3 over­all, 2-1 Susque­hanna), who rushed for 300 to­tal yards as an of­fense.

Bo Manor also re­ceived two car­ries for 24 yards from Jake Har­ris and two runs for 19 yards and a touch­down from Chris­tian-Ford Holt.

Har­ris, the quar­ter­back, com­pleted

6-of-13 passes for 102 yards and a touch­down pass to Franky Baglio, who ended with three catches for 24 yards.

The Huskies fall to 0-5 over­all and 0-3 in the lower di­vi­sion.
