Lil Lack Yoga Chair Yoga Class
Chair yoga is practiced seated on a chair or standing using the chair for stability and to aid with balance. This is great class for anyone wanting a gentle and safe practice, and for those that are seated much of the day and looking for movement techniques that can be practice throughout the work day. Qi Gong is a wonderful alternative to regular exercise and a gentle way to stay active. Practicing Qi Gong is a safe way to strengthen the body, reduce stress, improve sleep, lower blood pressure and improve balance. This ancient Chinese form of exercise links gentle movements, breathing exercises and meditation to cultivate, channel and balance vital energy to keep you healthy. CECIL COUNTY PARKS & RECREATION Dog Obedience
Certified trainer Kathryn Boris will lead Level 1 training at the Rising Sun Community Center every Friday, from 6 — 7 pm. The next class will start in mid August. Six week program with a focus on positive reinforcement to correct and teach proper behavior. Dogs must be at least 16 weeks old. Cost is $110. Call 410656-5125 to register.
Field Hockey Fall League
League will begin with practices starting the first week of school. Practices will be held at middle schools throughout the county. Games be played on Sunday afternoons from 1-4 pm at various locations. 9 week season. All participants must provide their own equipment; stick, mouth guard and shin guards. After The Bell
Program will be offered to students enrolled in Bay View, Calvert and Rising Sun Elementary Schools. Students will be bused from the three participating schools to Cecil Arena at dismissal. The goal of the program is to provide an affordable, structured, Sports and Arts club. After The Bell will run Monday — Friday each week starting the first day of school thru the end of the school year. Call 410-656-5125 to register or for more information.
Middle School Movers Flag Football
Practices will be held once a week, beginning the week of September 17th at each middle school. The fee for this program is $32 for the full 8 weeks. On the 4th week of play and again during the last week, students will be transported by bus for a competition play date between all Movers programs at Calvert Regional Park. All sessions will begin immediately after school and will conclude promptly at 4:30 pm. Call 410-656-5125 to register or for more information.
Monday and Thursday evenings beginning in September, Heather Bouchelle and Kathy Heimburger will instruct Yoga classes at the Rising Sun Community Center.
YMCA Youth Basketball Program
First come first serve only. Open spaces will fill up quickly. Players are taught basketball fundamentals and given the opportunity to demonstrate their learned skills in games. All players are placed on teams within their geographic school location.
No phone-in registrations are accepted. For students 1st through 8th grades.
Teams practice once a week in their community and play an eight-game schedule at the YMCA. Every player will receive a New YMCA Basketball Reversible tank top.
New “Run with the Big Dawgs” season ending tournament will be free for the older boys and girls divisions!!

BASKETBALL Rising Sun Middle School Basketball Fundraiser
The Tigers team, comprised of teachers, principals and administrators from Cecil County Public Schools, local law enforcement and elected officials will be taking on the Harlem Wizards (some players from the Harlem Globetrotters).
This fundraiser will take place at Rising Sun High School on Friday, Oct. 19. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. and the game starts at 6:30 p.m. There will be food trucks, Kona Ice, raffles and souvenirs for purchase.
