Trio of Ea­gles fin­ish 1-2-3 to cap­ture Ce­cil County In­vite

A trio of Bo­hemia Manor run­ners fin­ished ahead of the field to de­liver the Ch­e­sa­peake City pro­gram a vic­tory in the boys’ race at the Ce­cil County Cross Coun­try In­vi­ta­tional Tues­day at Calvert Re­gional Park.

Se­nior Alex Longe­way cap­tured first place and his team­mates Zachary Larid and Ryan Fitzwa­ter fol­lowed as the group took first, sec­ond and third place and helped the Ea­gles to 24 to­tal points —34 points ahead of run­ner-up Elk­ton.

Longe­way fin­ished in a time of 15:58, edg­ing Laird by six sec­onds and Fitzwa­ter by a lit­tle less than a minute. Colin Parker (18:22) took eighth and Ja­cob Jar­rell (18:31) placed 10th to round out Bo Manor’s fin­ish­ers.

Longe­way, Laird and Parker all con­trib­uted to the team’s 1A state cham­pi­onship a year ago.

Per­ryville’s Brian Keenan (17:00) placed fourth, while Elk­ton’s Nolan Clancy (17:17), Cameron Spaeth (17:39) and Tyler Vega (17:57) cap­tured fifth, sixth and sev­enth. Ris­ing Sun’s Cade Mil­burn (18:29) earned ninth to round out the top 10.

The Pan­thers fin­ished third with 68 points, Ris­ing Sun placed four th with 78 points and North East ended in fifth with 129 points.

Cease, Horst shine at Ce­cil In­vite

Sim­i­lar to the fi­nal out­come at the Susque­hanna Di­vi­sion Meet ear­lier this year, Ris­ing Sun’s Emma Cease and Heather Horst once again fin­ished atop the field.

This time, the duo fin­ished within eight sec­onds of each other to help guide the Tigers to a team vic­tory in the girls’ race at the Ce­cil County Cross County In­vi­ta­tional

at Calvert Re­gional Park on Tues­day.

Cease placed first in 20:01.53 and Horst cap­tured sec­ond in 20:09.56 as the Tigers went on to win with 34 team points, edg­ing run­nerup Bo­hemia Manor by nine points.

Sadie Marra (20:51.16), Venus Abosede (21:18.67) and Es­ther Green­blatt (21:45.87) took third, fourth and fifth for Elk­ton, which earned third with 53 points. Brooke Ayers (21:51.16) cap­tured sixth for North East, which did not place as a team.

The Ea­gles’ Rea­gan Gold­smith (22:00.66), Aubrey Preske (22:05.96) and Maya

Os­borne placed sev­enth, eighth and 10th, while Ris­ing Sun’s Han­nah Matthews (22:18.38) took ninth.

Per­ryville, which fin­ished with 81 points, was led by Gabriella Scram­lin, who took 11th with a time of 22:44.80.

UCBAC Boys’ Soc­cer Bo­hemia Manor 4, Havre de Grace 1

Sopho­more Lo­gan Ca­tron led the Ea­gles (4-3 over­all, 3-1 Susque­hanna) with a goal and two as­sists. Bean Bain­bridge, Bran­don Teix­i­dor and Mikey Stetcher scored a goal apiece.

The War­riors fall to 0-9-1 over­all and 0-6 in the lower di­vi­sion.
