Tonight’s top picks
8 p.m. on WCAU WBAL Weakest Link
Jane Lynch (“Hollywood Game Night”) hosts this reboot of a British game show that aired previously on this network from 2001-02, hosted by tart British TV personality Anne Robinson. In each episode, eight contestants work as a team to answer general-knowledge questions, with the value of each consecutive correct answer increasing exponentially. If a player gives a wrong answer, though, the money awarded drops back to the lowest amount. At the end of each round, the team votes to eject the player they see as their “weakest link.”
9 p.m. on WMPB WHYY PBS NewsHour Debates 2020
Chris Wallace of Fox News moderates the first of three debates between President Donald Trump and his Democratic challenger, Joe Biden, from the Health Education Campus (HEC) Samson Pavilion at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland. Veteran journalist Judy Woodruff anchors PBS coverage of the two-hour event, which also is scheduled to be covered by the major commercial networks and cable news outlets.
9 p.m. on WNUV Tell Me a Story
As Hannah (Dania Ramirez) tries to free Gabe (Davi Santos), she takes the fight to Katrina (guest star Becki Newton), culminating in a showdown in the season finale “Chapter 10: Forgiveness.” Kayla (Danielle Campbell) severs contact with her father (Sam Jaeger) and the police as she tries to save Colleen (Kim Cattrall), all too aware that the thoroughly unhinged Nick (Billy Magnussen) is capable of doing just about anything. Elsewhere, Jordan (James Wolk) reaches the end of his rope with Sam (Dorian Crossmond Missick).
9 p.m. on TLC Little People, Big World
Season 21 opens on the end of an era, as Amy prepares to bid farewell to Roloff Farms for good, but while she’s moving off the property, she still co-owns part of it with Matt, who is eager to settle that legal issue in the season premiere, “To Sell or Not to Sell.”
