The Breakfast Club, the most recognizied 1980s tribute band in the country, checks in at Revelry Room.
Formed in 1993, The Breakfast Club is the longest-running and most recognized 1980s tribute band in the United States. The band was the first to create an entertainment act that embodied the spirit of music of the original MTV generation of the ’80s. They have shared the stage with Whitesnake, Poison, Hootie and The Blowfish, White Lion, The Smithereens, Edwin McCain and performed for rock stars, movie stars and NASCAR legends. They will play Revelry Room on Saturday at 9 p.m.
Electro funk musician Eliot Lipp plays Revelry Room tonight in support of his album released last month, “Skywave.” With influences from sci-fi soundtracks and ’70s and ’80s funk, he channels a collection of weird, high-definition, melodic beats in the album’s nine songs, prompting Billboard to call it “a playground of sound.” He says re-creating key musical moments in a current and relatable way was the goal in producing “Skywave.”
