Chattanooga Times Free Press - ChattanoogaNow - - OUT & ABOUT -

Chattanooga Chuck, the Tennessee Aquarium’s groundhog, will be the center of attention Friday morning, Feb. 2, when he pops up for his annual weather forecast. Chattanooga Chuck will make his Groundhog Day prediction from an outdoor weather station nestled among the glass peaks atop the Aquarium. The event is not open to the public, however everyone can watch via Facebook Live, which will begin streaming on the Aquarium’s Facebook page about 6:35 a.m. According to folk lore, if a groundhog sees his shadow, there will be six more weeks of winter; if it’s cloudy and he doesn’t see a shadow, spring will arrive early.
