River City Sessions is Friday at Lula Lake
Join members of the Lula Lake Land Trust for a twilight concert at Lula Lake Land Trust nature preserve on Lookout Mountain on Friday, June 8.
River City Sessions is a monthly showcase of local musicians and talent. The Land Trust preserves natural and historic property surrounding Rock Creek and Bear Creek, works to educate students on conservation and offers low-impact recreation on its property such as hiking, mountain biking and equestrian use.
Gates for River City Sessions will open at 4:30 p.m. in order to allow guests to hike and explore the Land Trust’s trails before the performance. Hiking is open to ticketholders only.
Mountain Creek House Fire, the duo of Pattee Wilbanks and Robert Lovett, will entertain hikers with Busking by the Lake at 5: 30 p. m. The musicians will have a tip jar if the audience wishes to show appreciation.
Visitors should make their way back to center stage by 6: 30 p. m., when the duo Magic Birds will play followed by a storytelling performance by Michael Gray.
Then headliners Red Shoes & Rosin from Knoxville will take the stage. Enjoy fiddles, banjo, footstomping music with a kazoo riff thrown in here and there. The string band is comprised of Shawna Cyphers, Jessica Watson and Meade Armstrong.
Beer and wine will be available for a donation of $5 per glass. Lupi’s Pizza Pies and Clumpies Ice Cream will have their products for sale.
Guests may bring chairs or blankets for seating, but cannot bring in coolers of their own.
Tickets are $10 in advance and $ 12 on the day of the event. Children under 12 get in free. All proceeds from admission and concessions will benefit Lula Lake Land Trust.
Guests should bring either their printed ticket or show their e-ticket on their cellphones.
