The Catcher in the Rye by J.D. Salinger Read­ing it as a child and then re-read­ing it as a mom (her son, Charlie, is now 34) was “par­tic­u­larly poignant.”

“One day I sat down and read 40 books to my grand­daugh­ters, who are 6, 4 and 6 months. I have a rule that I never say no to a book.”
