Burglar breaks in on sleeping homeowners

A burglar broke into three homes while residents were asleep, and Calhoun police are warning people living in the Spring Valley area to be on the alert.

Police Chief Garry Moss said three homeowners told police that someone entered their homes by removing window screens early Thursday.

Moss said physical evidence shows the burglar tried to get into other homes in the neighborhood as well but couldn’t because the windows were secured.

He said neighborhood residents should be on the watch for unfamiliar or suspicious-looking people.

Lt. Tony Pyle said such invasions are “very uncommon” in Calhoun.
