Police: Man recovering after walking into fire station with gunshot wound

Atlanta police said a shooting victim who walked into a fire station is recovering.

Police spokeswoma­n Officer Stephanie Brown told The AtlantaJou­rnal Constituti­on a man who was shot Tuesday night is in stable condition.

The 43-year-old walked several blocks to the fire station after being shot around 8:15 p.m. He suffered a gunshot wound to the left side of his chest and was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital.

The man’s name and further details were not released.
