Two juveniles arrested in burglaries

Hamilton County Sheriff ’s Office deputies arrested two juveniles Monday after receiving multiple reports of burglaries from homes in the vicinity of the Sedman Hills and High Ridge neighborhoods in Hixson.

The victims told police the burglaries took place in the early morning while they were asleep. One of the victims reported he awoke to find an intruder in his home who fled when confronted. The homeowner provided a description of the person, a news release states.

Sheriff’s office patrol deputies and the department’s K9 Division tracked the intruder to a home in the neighborhood. While investigating, deputies identified an accomplice from a previous burglary, reportedly solving a total of five aggravated burglaries of occupied residences and one theft from a motor vehicle. Deputies also recovered a number of items reported stolen, including three firearms.

Both suspects were taken into custody and will be charged, the release stated.
