Cherokee County High School
is the 2011 Valedictorian of Cherokee County High School. She has a 4.5 GPA and a cumulative average of 101.7. She is graduating with an advanced diploma with Advanced Placement endorsement. Her parents are Doug and Cathy Davis. She has one sister, Tori. She is a member of the Beta Club, Leo Club, FFA, Spanish Club, FBLA, Math and Science Club, and Yearbook Staff. She is the Beta Club Chaplain and has been a class officer each year. She has earned All A’s and highest averages in all core classes each year. She attended the Alabama Youth Leadership Program and was a member of the Youth Leadership Cherokee. She was voted Who’s Who “Best All Around” by her Senior Class. She has lettered in both basketball and softball for the past six years. In basketball, she was selected All-County and All-Area the past 3 years, Team Captain the past 2 years, Offensive MVP the past 2 years, and 2010 MVP Area Tournament. Deidra is an active member of Centre First United Methodist Church. After graduation she plans to pursue a college degree in Secondary Education.
is the salutatorian for the Cherokee County High School Class of 2011. Chris has maintained a 4.5 G.P.A. gpa throughout his high school career and is a member of the Beta Club, the FBLA, the FFA, Leo Club, and the Spanish Club. He was nominated for Beta Club president and is a current president of the FBLA. He has participated in several plays for the Theatre of Centre including the Miracle on 34th Street and Smokey Joe’s Café. He is the son of Tina and Randall Wood. Chris has received awards for maintaining the highest average in several classes such as English, Chemistry, Physical Science, and Southern Writers. Chris also completed all the business courses at the Cherokee County Career and Technology Center. He plans to attend the University of Alabama to major in English.
is the son of Alan Benefield. He will graduate as an honor student from Cherokee County High School. Dylan is a member of Beta Club, Spanish Club, FBLA, and FFA; he also participated on the CCHS track team. Dylan is a member of Little River Baptist Church. Upon graduation, Dylan plans to attend Gadsden State Community College.
is the son of Tracy and Suzanne Bishop. He will be attending Auburn University in the fall of 2011 and will pursue a degree in Biomedical Sciences. He later plans to apply for pharmacy school at Auburn and become a pharmacist. He has been a member the Beta Club for four years, the Leo club, and a member of the CCHS tennis team for four years.
is the daughter of Tim and Julia Doyle. Virginia will be graduating 20th in her class. She plans to attend college at Troy University in Troy, Alabama to which she has been awarded a full tuition scholarship for four years, where she plans to study music education. Virginia has been a member of the CCHS band for seven years and plans to continue participating in the band program at Troy.
is the son of Tim and Pam Burgess. He has two brothers, Eric (15) and Kyle (11). Brett, selected to the class 4A All-State football team in 2009, has played football and baseball four years. He was voted president of his senior class and is a member of the Beta Club, SGA, FFA, and FCCLA. A member of Cedar Bluff First Baptist Church, after graduation Brett will be attending Snead State Community College on a baseball scholarship where he will pursue a degree in education.
