Gaylesville closes out sea­son with win

GAYLESVILLE – Gaylesville se­nior full­back Lan­don Law­son’s fi­nal football game will be a mem­o­rable one.

Law­son ran for 231 yards on 28 car­ries and score three touch­downs to lead the Tro­jans to a 42-6 vic­tory over vis­it­ing Alabama School for the Deaf on Fri­day.

Law­son wasn’t the only se­nior to have a good night for the Tro­jans. Will Smith tal­lied 75 yards on seven car­ries. Austin Stor­dahl added 66 yards on nine totes with a touch­down.

Ju­nior Devin Ben­theimer and sopho­more Tris­ten Payne ac­count- ed for the other two Tro­jan touch­downs.

On de­fense, Stor­dahl caused two fum­bles and re­cov­ered an­other. Se­nior Dil­lon Hard­ing also had a fum­ble re­cov­ery, and se­nior Joseph Lewis fin­ished with four tack­les and a sack.

Gaylesville closed out the 2016 sea­son at 3-7. ASD also fin­ished its sea­son at 3-7.
