Richard Eugene Bearden, 57, of Centre, died Saturday, April 1, 2017, at Cherokee Medical Center. Mr. Bearden was a native of Floyd County, GA, the son of the late William Clay and Mary M. Cox Bearden and was a member of Pilgrims Rest Baptist Church.

MR. WILLIAM CLINTON BLEVINS
Mr. William Clinton Blevins, 78, of Centre, died Sunday, April 2, 2017, at his residence. Mr. Blevins was a native of DeKalb County and the son of the late Clifford and Ottie Louise Haney Blevins.

MRS. JOYCE COTHRAN BURK
Mrs. Joyce Cothran Burk, 75, of Centre, died Thursday, April 6, 2017, at her residence. She was a native of Cherokee County, member of Mt. Springs Methodist Church and retired seamstress with American Apparel and Springs, She was the daughter of the late Chancellor Burton and Annie Lou Wood Russell.
Funeral services were held Saturday, April 8, 2017, at Perry Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ricky Clanton officiating. Burial followed in Cherokee Memory Gardens. Mrs. Burk is survived by her husband Raymond Burk, Son. Jeff (Lisa) Burk of Centre, Daughters, Becky (Frank) Miller, Stacey Peek and Jan (Tony) Ray, all of Centre; Brothers, Bobby (Ann) Russell, Centre, Billy Russell, Piedmont. Sisters, Clara McKinney, Centre, Louise Law, Centre, Nilmarg Smart, Piedmont and Betty Smith, Snellville, GA; Nine grandchildren; Six Great Grandchildren; and several Nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Gary Cothran and grandson, Ethan Miller.
MRS. MARSHELEAN “MA-MAYNARD” BONE FARMER
Mrs. Marshelean “Ma-Maynard” Bone Farmer, 79, of Centre, died Friday, March 31, 2017, at Cherokee Health & Rehab. Mrs. Farmer was a native of Cherokee County, the daughter of the late Edgar and Birdie Keasler Bone, was an inspector at American Apparel and was of the Baptist faith.

MRS. ERA LORINE KERR
Mrs. Era Lorine Kerr, 93, of Centre, died Sunday, April 2, 2017, at her residence. Mrs. Kerr was a native of Cherokee County, the daughter of the late Paul Lester and Mildred Rachel Grey Ferguson, was a homemaker and a member of Old Nazareth Baptist Church.

MRS. EMILY MORGAN MCMANUS
Mrs. Emily Morgan McManus, 65, of Gadsden, died Sunday, April 2, 2017, at her residence. Mrs. McManus was a native of Cherokee County and the daughter of the late Frank and Virginia Hall Norton and was a school teacher and of the Baptist Faith.

MR. MILES NELSON PALMORE
Mr. Miles Nelson Palmore, 65, of Piedmont, died Friday, March 24, 2017, at RMC Jacksonville.

Survivors include his wife, Cathy Palmore of Piedmont; three children, Gregory Cantrell (Tracy) of Birmingham, Christina Cantrell (Cedric Prater) and Nelson Palmore all of Piedmont; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; one sister, Mary Baldwin (O.G.) of Ohio; one brother, Cottell Palmore of California and a host of nieces, nephews, and other family members.
He was a graduate of Piedmont High School and attended Gadsden State and Jacksonville State University. He retired from Bostrom Seating and enjoyed fishing.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Carvin and Maybelle Cobb Palmore; grandson, Christian Cantrell; brothers, A.C. Palmore, Willie J, Palmore, Bradford Palmore, Sammy Palmore; and sisters, Betty Palmore, Jewell Harris, and Oretha Genleser.
MRS. ETHEL H. SIMMONS
Mrs. Ethel H. Simmons, 97, passed away on April 2, 2017.

She is survived by her daughter Barbara Anne ( James) Moody; three grandchildren; one great-grandson, all of San Antonio, Texas; several nieces and nephews, all of Montgomery, Alabama.
Ms. Simmons was born in Montgomery County and was the daughter of the late Joe and Laura Berry Hardaway. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Leon Simmons, her sister Patsie H. Allen, and her brother Joe Hardaway Jr.
