Advance notice! The 2017 Garden walk sponsored by the Cherokee Rose Garden has been scheduled for Saturday, May 20 — from 1-4 p.m. Two locations in Centre and three in Sand Rock will be open to the public. Tickets are $10 and may be purchased at Patti Ford Photography (near the intersection of Cedar Bluff Road and Iris Drive in Centre). Event proceeds will help the club support numerous beautification projects in the Land of Cherokee and the state garden clubs’ horticulture scholarships at Auburn University.
Additional details and driving directions to the homes/ gardens will be printed the week of the Walk.
CONGRATULATIONS! to the debate team at Centre Middle School. The CMS Debate Warriors placed first in every debate category in the inaugural season of the Northeast Alabama Debate and Public Speaking League. (In previous years, the team has traveled to Samford University for competitions. Joining the new league at JSU has saved transportation time and funds).
The CMS team’s 2016-17 record is 8-0! The Debate Warriors earned first place for number of wins, win percentage, and individual debate performance. Four CMSers were in the final competition.
