Sand Rock softball splits with Fyffe, Piedmont
SAND ROCK — The Sand Rock Lady Wildcats split a home softball doubleheader on Thursday. The Lady Wildcats fell to Fyffe 7-2, then defeated Piedmont 11-4 to improve to 19-17 on the season.
In the loss to Fyffe, Magen Rich homered and drove in the only two Lady Wildcats runs. Brylie St. Clair added a hit and scored a run. Lindsey Chambers finished with a hit.
Rich suffered the loss in the circle. She gave up three earned runs on five hits with two walks and a strikeout.
In the win over Piedmont, the Lady Wildcats scored eight runs in the first inning to cruise to the win. St. Clair had a pair of hits, including a triple, and scored two runs. Cara Parker also had two hits, two runs and a RBI. Paige Norris and Haley Grace Lisenbee both contributed two hits, a run and a RBI.
Erin Langley added a hit, two runs and three RBIs. Maggie Hester contributed a hit, a run and a RBI. Rich and Chambers both had a hit and drove in a run. Audrey Richardson finished with a hit and scored a run.
Rich picked up the win. She gave up just one earned run on nine hits with six walks and five strikeouts.
