NAVAL

Cherokee County Herald - - VIEWPOINTS -

“The County Commission hereby adopts this resolution honoring Ensign Micky Shane Hall, United States Navy for his graduation from the United States Navy Academy in Anapolis, Maryland,” stated the resolution.

“This momentous achievement reflects great credit upon all Cedar Bluff High School and the citizens of Cherokee County.”

Ensign Hall could not be present for the presentation, Chairman Day said, because he is currently at the Naval Academy to train the incoming class.

Chairman Day shared a few comments about how he first met Ensign Hall. It was during a Centre Lions Club Leadership Seminar.

“And all the people who were there from the different schools got up and said where they are going to go to school,” said Day. “And mostly you hear Gadsden State, Jacksonville State, Alabama, Auburn, so many regional colleges there. I am sitting there and not paying much attention and then all of a sudden I hear ‘I am Shane Hall, I am from Cedar Bluff and I want to go to the Naval Academy. I am like ‘wow,’ because it was 13 years between myself and the last person to go to West Point and there was another 14 years before we sent David Chesnut.”
