Sher­iff’s of­fice ar­rests NY sex of­fender ac­cused of fail­ing to reg­is­ter

Chero­kee County Sher­iff’s Of­fice in­ves­ti­ga­tors ar­rested an out-of-state sex of­fender af­ter he failed to reg­is­ter with the sher­iff’s of­fice.

Pa­trick E, Sul­li­van, 30, of Al­bany, New York, was taken into cus­tody Tues­day, Aug. 8.

Ac­cord­ing to Chero­kee County Sher­iff Jeff Shaver, in­ves­ti­ga­tors re­ceived in­for­ma­tion the sus­pect was liv­ing at a res­i­dence in Lees­burg and had not com­plied with the Alabama Sex Of­fender Reg­is­tra­tion Act (SORNA). Af­ter ver­i­fy­ing with New York author­i­ties of the con­vic­tion, in­ves­ti­ga­tors ar­rested Sul­li­van.

Sul­li­van was trans­ported to the Chero­kee County De­ten­tion Cen­ter where he awaits bond on a SORNA vi­o­la­tion for en­ter­ing the state with­out reg­is­ter­ing.
