CENTRE — The Cherokee County Public Library is joining public libraries across the entire state in participating in “Snapshot Day: One Day in the Life of Alabama Public Libraries” on Thursday, Aug. 17, to show how important public libraries and library systems are to the State of Alabama.

It’s a day to drop by your public library and see what’s happening!

Visit our selfie station, admire the quilts made by the Sew Joyful Quilters, have lunch and learn about drought resistant plants at our Green Bag Lunch, take a library mini-tour, enjoy light refreshments, and fill out a library comment card.

On Aug. 17, Cherokee County Public Library will compile statistics, patron comments, photographs, and other data chronicling a typical library day.

The results at Cherokee County Public Library will be added to those of public libraries across Alabama to show how libraries provide invaluable services to Alabama citizens.

“Snapshot Day: One Day in the Life of Alabama Public Libraries” is a project of the Alabama Public Library Service.
