After com­ing close in pre­vi­ous sea­sons, Western Cana­di­an­based Pace­maker Hodg­son/Paper­nick Rac­ing broke through late last sea­son to win the highly pres­ti­gious AA/FC World Cham­pi­onship points ti­tle for NHRA’s Hot Rod Her­itage drag rac­ing se­ries. Rac­ing their rather rev­o­lu­tion­ary Vic­tory Race Cars-built 1969 Ca­maro, driver Ryan Hodg­son earned the dis­tinc­tion of be­ing the first driver from Canada to se­cure that cov­eted ti­tle. 1-2-3 fin­ish in the fi­nal sea­son points by

Chevy Ca­maro rac­ers, with Ja­son Ru­pert and Bobby Cot­trell fin­ish­ing Sec­ond and Third, re­spec­tively. Hodg­son was quite dom­i­nant dur­ing the sea­son, win­ning mul­ti­ple times, in­clud­ing the sea­son’s mar­quee and iconic March Meet held at Famoso Auto Club Race­way in Bak­ers­field, Cal­i­for­nia. The cham­pi­onship run high­lighted the tun­ing prow­ess of Bob Paper­nick and Jim Basko as well as the val­ued ded­i­ca­tion of team spon­sors Ron Hodg­son Chevro­let - Buick - GMC, Cas­trol Canada, Oceanus Re­sources, Ace Man­u­fac­tur­ing, Yeti Snow MX, DJ Safety, and Napa Auto Parts.
