• Prior to the Iowa cau­cus, Todd Ricketts’ su­per PAC, Our Prin­ci­ples PAC, spent about $2.5 mil­lion rip­ping pres­i­den­tial can­di­date Don­ald Trump. Trump fin­ished se­cond to Sen. Ted Cruz in Iowa.

• On Tues­day, Our Prin­ci­ples PAC an­nounced a ‘‘seven-fig­ure ad buy’’ with anti-Trump ads to run in Illinois, Michi­gan and Florida. Most of the ads are fo­cused on Florida, where the win­ner gets to claim all of the state’s 99 del­e­gates.

• As the polls closed on Su­per Tues­day, Ricketts was on a con­fer­ence call with top busi­ness lead­ers to dis­cuss how spend­ing money can help de­fine Trump.
