PERSON INJURED IN APARTMENT FIRE

One person was injured in a fire early Sunday inside a South Shore neighborho­od apartment building.

Firefighte­rs responded to the blaze about 3: 45 a. m. at the four- story courtyard apartment in the 6900 block of South Cornell, according to Fire Media Affairs.

One person was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center with a stabilized condition, fire officials said.

The blaze was extinguish­ed by 4: 15 a. m. The cause is under investigat­ion.
