PER­SON IN­JURED IN APART­MENT FIRE

One per­son was in­jured in a fire early Sun­day in­side a South Shore neigh­bor­hood apart­ment build­ing.

Fire­fight­ers re­sponded to the blaze about 3: 45 a. m. at the four- story court­yard apart­ment in the 6900 block of South Cor­nell, ac­cord­ing to Fire Me­dia Affairs.

One per­son was taken to the Univer­sity of Chicago Med­i­cal Cen­ter with a sta­bi­lized con­di­tion, fire of­fi­cials said.

The blaze was ex­tin­guished by 4: 15 a. m. The cause is un­der in­ves­ti­ga­tion.
