Carlos Rodon registered a free and easy, almost ho- hum three scoreless innings. “I just know what I’mdoing a little more after one year of spring training,’’ Rodon said after holding the Padres to a single and a walk while striking out two. “A little more comfortable, just going out there and working on stuff. Fastball, change, trying to get better on those things and bring it into the season.’’ It was Rodon’s first start after his strong finish in 2015, when he posted a 3.75 ERA as a rookie. His focus in 2016 is three- fold: “Command the zone, cut down on walks and try to go long in the game.’’
