Oakley sues Knicks

Former New York Knicks star Charles Oakley sued the team’s owners, saying he was defamed when they claimed he committed assault and was an alcoholic after his arrest at a game in February at Madison Square Garden. The lawsuit seeks unspecified damages.

The Los Angeles Lakers will retire longtime superstar Kobe Bryant’s No. 8 and No. 24 in a ceremony during their game Dec. 18 against the Golden State Warriors. Bryant wore No. 8 in the first half of his 20- year career and No. 24 in the second half.
