The slogan of the Chicago chapter of the Red Cross meeting today is “To save the men we must have nurses.” Chicago’s quota of the 5,000 nurses requested nationally is 600, and these need to be ready to set sail next month.

Robert Stevenson, U. S. Assistant Food Administrator, said there will be three meatless days a week announced in the next month to aid the war effort. But Illinois need not suffer. She has more fish in her rivers than any state in the union. “Let her go fishing and eat her own catch!” said George H. High. It will soon be the patriotic duty of every man who can do so to fish in Illinois waters.
