Nicklaus says he, wife had virus; Rahm No. 1

Tournament host Jack Nicklaus revealed during the CBS telecast of the Memorial in Dublin, Ohio, that he and his wife tested positive for the coronaviru­s at the onset of the pandemic. Both are 80.

Nicklaus said his wife had no COVID-19 symptoms, while he had a sore throat and a cough. He said they were at their home in Florida from March 13 ‘‘until we were done with it’’ about April 20.

Jon Rahm won the tournament to take over the No. 1 ranking in the world. He closed with a 3-overpar 75 but still earned a three-stroke victory over Ryan Palmer with a score of 9-under 279. Tiger Woods shot a 4-over 76 and finished tied for 40th.
