Doncic’s heroics lift Mavs
Luka Doncic made a step-back three-pointer at the buzzer to cap a Herculean effort on a sprained ankle, and the Mavericks outlasted the Clippers 135-133 in overtime Sunday to even their first-round series at two games apiece in the NBA bubble in Orlando, Florida.
Doncic, who had suffered the ankle injury in the Clippers’ victory in Game 3, had 43 points, 17 rebounds and 13 assists to help the Mavericks overcome the absence of Kristaps Porzingis (knee).
Lou Williams scored 36 points and Kawhi Leonard 32 for the Clippers.
Jazz 129, Nuggets 127
In the first game in NBA playoff history in which two players scored 50 or more points, the Jazz and Donovan Mitchell (51) got the best of the Nuggets and Jamal Murray (50) to grab a 3-1 lead in their firstround playoff series.
Mitchell was 15-for-27 from the field, including four three-pointers, and 17-for-18 from the line. Murray was 18-for-31 from the field, including nine three-pointers, and 5-for-5 from the line. Murray also had 11 rebounds.
Celtics 110, 76ers 106
Kemba Walker scored 32 points, and the Celtics completed a sweep of their first-round series against the 76ers. The sweep was the first in 15 playoff-series meetings between the teams.
Jayson Tatum added 28 points and 15 rebounds for the Celtics. Joel Embiid led the 76ers with 30 points and 10 rebounds.
Raptors 150, Nets 122
Norman Powell and Serge Ibaka came off the bench to score 29 and 27 points, respectively, and the defending champion Raptors overcame the loss of Kyle Lowry (foot) in the first quarter to steamroll the Nets and finish a first-round sweep.
