The Brew­ers’ game against the Reds on Wed­nes­day night at Miller Park was post­poned in protest of the po­lice shoot­ing of Ja­cob Blake in Wis­con­sin.

Also, the Mariners did not play their game against the host Padres af­ter Seat­tle play­ers agreed to post­pone it. In ad­di­tion, the Dodgers and host Gi­ants called off their game.

“Given the pain in the com­mu­ni­ties of Wis­con­sin and be­yond fol­low­ing the shoot­ing of Ja­cob Blake, we re­spect the de­ci­sions of a num­ber of play­ers not to play tonight,” MLB said in a state­ment. “Ma­jor League Baseball re­mains united for change in our so­ci­ety and we will be al­lies in the fight to end racism and in­jus­tice.”

The WNBA post­poned its three games (Wash­ing­ton-At­lanta, Min­nesota-Los An­ge­les and Con­necti­cutPhoenix) to protest the shoot­ing.

The MLS had five of its six matches called off (Mi­ami-At­lanta, Dal­las-Colorado, Real Salt LakeLAFC, San Jose-Port­land, LA Galaxy-Seat­tle) as play­ers protested the shoot­ing.

Naomi Os­aka will not play in the Western & South­ern Open semi­fi­nal match in New York in a call for racial jus­tice. The whole tour­na­ment was put on hold for a day.
