Mango Turmeric Lassi Smoothie
SERVES 4. HANDS-ON TIME: 5 MINUTES. TOTAL TIME: 5 MINUTES.
A cross between yogurt and a smoothie, this Indian-originated beverage is at once sweet yet savory, light but oh-so satisfying.
2 cups cubed frozen mango
11∕2 cups full-fat plain yogurt or coconut yogurt 2 tsp ground turmeric 1∕8 tsp ground cardamom + additional for garnish Pinch ground black pepper 1 tbsp pure maple syrup or raw honey, optional
1. In a blender, add 2 cups water and all ingredients; blend until smooth.
2. Pour into glasses and garnish each with a sprinkle of cardamom. (If storing, pour into Mason jars for an easy grab-and-go snack or breakfast.)
TIP: Aside from drinking straight up, this lassi is perfectly paired with your favorite granola and berries, tossed in chia seeds for a quick pudding, or in a smoothie bowl with fruit, nuts and seeds of your choice.
