Renew the Spark

Clean Eating - - BITS & BITES FOODIE FAVES -

If you’ve lost the joy that came from eating and drinking your once favorite comestibles, fear not. A report out of Personality and Social Psychology Bulletin has found that renewed enjoyment can be brought about by consuming items in new and unconventional ways. Co-author Robert Smith gives this example, “When you eat popcorn with chopsticks, you pay more attention and you are more immersed in the experience. It’s like eating popcorn for the first time.” Sound too silly to try? APPLY it to your life by slightly altering an existing habit; for example, drink water with a metal loopy straw or out of a crystal glass. Instead of a quotidian dinner at the kitchen table, try a free-spirited picnic on the floor, laying out pillows, blankets and tea lights to add even more charm.
