The torpedo- shaped Gripedo might just be the best way for us puny climbers to fit in amidst all the tank- top bros in the weight room. This grip trainer slips onto the end of a barbell and offers multiple grips, letting you twist and lift to build pure grip strength, as well as do sled pulls, static weight holds, etc. I found it most useful for training high- resistance forearm extension and flexion with one hand in the open position ( with the ball grip), while the other hand remained horizontal. I’d recommend training with it 2– 3 times a week as an adjunct to your climbing, focusing on a high- weight/ lowrep cycles ( 2– 4 rounds, 1– 2 efforts per round).
