CRIME RING

-

Who says crime doesn’t pay? As part of its “Gangsters, Outlaws and Lawmen” sale, Boston’s RR Auction have in the offing a promise ring bank robber Clyde Barrow made for his gal,

Bonnie Parker. Part of a collection owned by Sheriff Smoot Schmid (who led the posse in the “Sowers Raid”), the silver-plated, three-headed snake is expected to fetch over $40,000. And much like the ’67 film with Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaway,

RR’s VP Bobby Livingston thinks the appeal is obvious. “They were gangsters, but there is this love story that resonates to this day.”
