Ten­nis leg­end Bil­lie Jean King never ex­pected to see her life be­come a movie. “It’s sur­real,” she mar­veled to Closer at the Sept. 19 New York screen­ing of Bat­tle of the Sexes, which re­volves around her high-stakes 1973 match against Bobby Riggs. “I’ve watched it three times, and I still can’t get used to it.” While wit­ness­ing her own story play out on the big screen has been a bit strange, the 73-year-old says she could not be hap­pier with the cast­ing of ac­tress Emma Stone. “She did such a great job,” noted Bil­lie. “Emma got my man­ner­isms, fa­cial ex­pres­sions, spirit and speech pat­tern down!” Of course, it didn’t hurt that Emma, 28, got les­sons from one of the best to ever swing a racket. “I was help­ing her with her ten­nis,” shared Bil­lie of her new pal. “Now we see each other all the time.” Emma in the film (be­low) and Bil­lie dur­ing the 1973 match (right). “She is just beau­ti­ful in­side and out,” Bil­lie boasted to Closer.
