Tennis legend Billie Jean King never expected to see her life become a movie. “It’s surreal,” she marveled to Closer at the Sept. 19 New York screening of Battle of the Sexes, which revolves around her high-stakes 1973 match against Bobby Riggs. “I’ve watched it three times, and I still can’t get used to it.” While witnessing her own story play out on the big screen has been a bit strange, the 73-year-old says she could not be happier with the casting of actress Emma Stone. “She did such a great job,” noted Billie. “Emma got my mannerisms, facial expressions, spirit and speech pattern down!” Of course, it didn’t hurt that Emma, 28, got lessons from one of the best to ever swing a racket. “I was helping her with her tennis,” shared Billie of her new pal. “Now we see each other all the time.” Emma in the film (below) and Billie during the 1973 match (right). “She is just beautiful inside and out,” Billie boasted to Closer.
