COMFORT IS KEY TO GOOD DESIGN

Coastal Living - - HAVENS -

“I want to live in, and I want my clients to live in, houses that have a cross breeze all year long. I want oldfashioned shutters, which mitigate uncomfortable light at sunrise and sunset. A house must stay cool in the hottest months and have dappled, comfortable light throughout the year.”

OPEN-AIR POLICYThe designer’s Lyford Cay home features a breezy veranda that stretches the length of the house and is protected by an awning and foldaway shutters (painted Southfield Green by Benjamin Moore). The furnishings are vintage wicker covered in striped cotton fabric.

BEAUTY SLEEPCerused wood shutters send Caribbean breezes through this guest bedroom on Antigua. Lindroth dressed the beds in Indian block-printed blankets.
