A prop­erly fit­ting hol­ster al­lows your gun to be car­ried com­fort­ably, se­curely and dis­creetly with­out any nag­ging pulling, pinch­ing or wob­bling. We’ve reached out to some of the lead­ing hol­ster mak­ers to see the in­no­va­tions com­ing off their work­benches.

01. ALIEN GEAR SHAPE SHIFT

02. CROSS­BREED GIDEON POCKET MAGAZINE CAR­RIER

You don’t want to fumble around for your spare magazine when you need it des­per­ately. The Gideon pocket magazine car­rier from Cross­breed Hol­sters is de­signed to be worn in the pocket to keep your spare magazine prop­erly ori­ented for quick ac­cess. It mea­sures 6 x 1.5 x 4.75 inches. It’s avail­able in black cowhide, choco­late brown cowhide, Ha­vana brown cowhide, horse­hide and London tan cowhide. 03. GALCO KINGTUK AIR

The King­tuck Air from Galco Gun Leather is a new IWB hol­ster that fea­tures a Ky­dex hol­ster pocket with a ven­ti­lated steer­hide backer to im­prove air­flow and com­fort while keep­ing sweat away from the hand­gun. In­cludes metal belt clips that ac­com­mo­date belts up to 1 ¾ inches wide. The hooks can be moved to dif­fer­ent po­si­tions on the leather backer to ad­just carry height and an­gle. Patented C-Hooks are op­tional. The hol­ster can be worn with your shirt tucked or not.

04. CROSS­BREED FOUNDER’S SE­RIES SU­PERTUCK

Cross­breed’s Founder’s Se­ries hol­sters, com­mem­o­rat­ing the firm’s founder Mark Craig­head, of­fer some­thing a lit­tle ex­tra spe­cial. The backer on each hol­ster in the se­ries is made from veg­etable-tanned leather treated with nat­u­ral oils and tal­lows. Each is ac­cented with Craig­head’s sig­na­ture and his orig­i­nal cross stamp. Each Su­perTuck IWB hol­ster is hand molded to a spe­cific hand­gun. 05. TI­TAN AT­LAS MAGAZINE CAR­RIER

The At­las v2 from Ti­tan Con­ceal­ment is an am­bidex­trous double magazine car­rier. It al­lows for place­ment of the mag­a­zines in ei­ther the bul­lets-for­ward or bul­lets-rear po­si­tion. Re­ten­tion is ad­justable. This mag car­rier will fit mag­a­zines from many pis­tols, in­clud­ing: CZ P10c, Glock 9/40 double stack, S&W M&P 9/40, SIG P320 and P250, and HK VP9. The Main­stay from Elite Sur­vival Sys­tems is a cli­p­less hy­brid that gives you the ver­sa­til­ity to use it as ei­ther an IWB or pocket hol­ster. The sil­i­cone-coated outer shell helps to keep the hol­ster in place—it won’t come flop­ping out when you draw your gun. The soft in­ner lin­ing pro­tects your gun’s fin­ish. 07. “THE AN­SWER” FROM TUCKER GUN LEATHER

“The An­swer” is an IWB hy­brid hol­ster from Tucker Gun Leather that com­bines a Ky­dex hol­ster pocket fas­tened to a dual-layer leather backer. No fas­ten­ers are ex­posed on the back side that might scrape your cloth­ing or skin. Tucker Gun Leather was the first to of­fer an op­tional smooth cowhide lin­ing on the in­side of the Ky­dex, which makes for a quiet draw and helps to pro­tect the hand­gun’s fin­ish. 08. TI­TAN CRONUS V2

The new Cronus v2 belt hol­ster from Ti­tan Con­ceal­ment is de­signed on a com­puter and CNC cut for a hol­ster with a per­fect fit. It’s made en­tirely in the Ti­tan Con­ceal­ment fac­tory. This hol­ster pro­vides for a smooth draw and pos­i­tive re­hol­ster­ing with an au­di­ble “click.” The re­ten­tion and ride height are both ad­justable. The de­sign al­lows for hand­guns fit­ted with re­flex sights, and the sight chan­nel will ac­com­mo­date tall sights as you might find in a hand­gun equipped with a sup­pres­sor.

09. DESAN­TIS SHOUL­DER RIG FOR GLOCK 43

DeSan­tis Gun­hide has adapted its New York Un­der­cover shoul­der hol­ster for the Glock 43. The hol­ster, listed as #11D, has been part of the DeSan­tis lineup since the early 1970s. Now this shoul­der rig, made of top-grain cowhide, has been molded to fit the sin­gle-stack 9mm Glock. Each hol­ster comes fully as­sem­bled and ready to go with the in­cluded double spare magazine car­rier. The hol­ster is de­signed to pivot at all four junc­tion points for all-day com­fort and mo­bil­ity. It will fit those with up to a 54-inch chest. It’s made of pre­mium cen­ter cut steer hide and fea­tures a metal-re­in­forced mouth to allow for easy re­hol­ster­ing. 16. DESAN­TIS IWB HOL­STER FOR GLOCK 43 WITH TLR-6

More pistol per­mit hold­ers are mount­ing lights and lasers to their hand­guns than ever be­fore. DeSan­tis Gun­hide has re­sponded by of­fer­ing hol­sters de­signed to fit hand­guns that have ac­ces­sories at­tached to the Pi­catinny rail be­low the dust cover or in front of the trig­ger guard. The lat­est is the company’s #17 Slim-Tuk, a Ky­dex in­side-the-waist­band (IWB) hol­ster molded to fit the Glock 43 with a Stream­light TLR-6 light/laser combo at­tached. 17. HTC SPEKTRE FOR CANIK

The Spektre from High Threat Con­ceal­ment is an IWB hol­ster suit­able for strong-side or ap­pen­dix carry. This hol­ster is now avail­able for Canik pis­tols, along with many other hand­gun mod­els. The hol­ster comes ready to ac­com­mo­date pis­tols with op­tics mounted. The company offers a choice of three types of at­tach­ment clips: soft loops, over-hook belt clips or fold-over belt clips. All fit belts 1½ to 1¾ inches in width and pro­vide some ride height and cant ad­just­ment. The pas­sive re­ten­tion on the hol­ster is ad­justable.

18. HTC VAN­TAGE FOR CANIK

The Van­tage from High Threat Con­ceal­ment (HTC) is a thin and light­weight out­side-the-waist­band hol­ster made of high-strength Boltaron. They are molded to spe­cific pis­tols, and now the company is of­fer­ing this model for the in­creas­ingly pop­u­lar Canik pis­tols. The hol­ster is fit­ted with a cus­tom ten­sioner to ad­just the amount of re­ten­tion you pre­fer. Ac­com­mo­dates belts 1½ to 1¾ inches wide. The belt loops are off­set to keep the hand­gun close to the body. This is a straight-draw hol­ster. Op­tional closed belt loops are avail­able to pro­vide a 15-de­gree cant and lower ride height.

19. COMP-TAC FLATLINE IN DARK TAN

Comp-Tac is now of­fer­ing its ver­sa­tile Flatline hol­ster in dark tan. This Ky­dex hol­ster has strong ny­lon belt clips that allow for ei­ther in­side-the-waist­band (IWB) or out­side-the-waist­band (OWB) carry. For IWB carry, you place the clips over the belt. The belt can still be fed through the loops for added se­cu­rity. For OWB carry, you would run the belt through the loops in the clips. The stan­dard model is made to fit belts up to 1.5 inches wide. How­ever, the company does of­fer op­tional clips that will ac­com­mo­date belts up to 1.75 inches wide.

The hol­ster’s cant (from straight up to 15 de­grees for­ward) and ride height can also be ad­justed, as can the cam­ber

(up to 1/5 inch fur­ther from your body). The amount of re­ten­tion can also be ad­justed. A good fit to your hand­gun is as­sured as the company uses real hand­guns when mold­ing their hol­sters. Avail­able in black, red, blue, for­est green and dark tan.
