The S9 (and the closely-related ST9) are two brand-new pistols in Kahr’s Value Line of pistols. But don’t let the term “value” frighten you—these are very solidly build semi-auto pistols that have the same innovative trigger-cocking DOA design that you’ll find in other Kahr guns (wherein the trigger pull actually finishes cocking the gun before firing, a great safety feature) and locked breech design with Browning-style recoil lug.
What you don’t get with these value guns is as many nifty details on the metalwork or polygonal rifling, which are found on Kahr’s more expensive Premium guns. The polymer frame and stainless steel slide make this gun durable yet light; with an empty magazine the S9 weighs in at just under 18 ounces.
This gun is also compact and can be easily carried as it measures 5.9 inches long with a 3.6-inch barrel and has a height of 4.5 inches. It also comes with a long list of features that includes white three-dot sights, front slide serrations and even an accessory rail. Capacity is 7+1, which is right in keeping with this class of guns, and the slide width is under an inch. It’s priced below $500, so if you’re looking for the hottest new single stack, this might just be it.
