The XD-S is the single stack version of the brand’s popular line of XD striker-fired pistols, and like its larger cousin, the XD-S comes with a forged steel slide with durable Melonite finish, a polymer frame with very aggressive grip texturing, and a set of dovetailed sights with an adjustable rear and fiber optic front.
And, like the XD, the trim XD-S comes with a grip safety that offers an added layer of protection with this gun because the grip safety prevents the trigger from breaking unless it is depressed by the shooter’s hand. The XD-S comes with two magazines, a flush-fit seven-round mag and the company’s eight-round Mid-Mag X-Tension magazine that offers more grip space for more control when practicing at the range.
There are two optional barrel lengths (3.3 inches and 4 inches) and these guns are available with a black or stainless slide. The 3.3-inch 9mm measures just 4.4 inches high with the seven-round mag in place, measures 6.3 inches long and weighs 23 ounces with an empty magazine. The trim 0.9-inch slide also makes this gun easy to conceal when carried on the hip.
