The new Coast HP10R recharge­able flash­light com­bines an ex­tremely bright light with a ver­sa­tile power sys­tem for go-any­where il­lu­mi­na­tion. The HP10R fea­tures Coast’s Flex Charge Dual Power Sys­tem al­low­ing it to be pow­ered by ei­ther the in­cluded recharge­able lithium power cell or four AAA al­ka­line bat­ter­ies. Pulling back the tail cap re­veals a mi­cro USB port for on-board bat­tery charg­ing. The bat­tery cell also has an in­te­gral charg­ing port, so you can charge the bat­tery out­side of the unit. An out­put port on the lithium cell al­lows you to charge other de­vices from the bat­tery. The light fea­tures high, strobe and low modes, controlled by the push-but­ton tail cap. On high, the light puts out a super-bright 1,050 lu­mens, with a beam that reaches 1,017 feet and lasts six hours on a full charge. On low, the 230-lu­men beam still reaches 475 feet and lasts 11 hours on a full charge.Ex­tend­ing the HP10R’s bezel switches its Pure Beam Op­tic from a flood­light to a Bull’s-Eye Spot Beam. A twist of the bezel locks it in place. The light is 7.1 inches long and weighs 8 ounces.

Fenix has up­graded its pop­u­lar

PD35 with ad­di­tional tac­ti­cal fea­tures for this PD35 TAC. This flash­light pro­vides a max­i­mum out­put of 1,000 lu­mens for a beam that projects up to 656 feet. Run time on high is 1 hour, 10 min­utes.

It’s pow­ered by a sin­gle 18650 recharge­able lithium bat­tery or two CR123A cells. The PD35 TAC can be switched be­tween out­door mode and tac­ti­cal mode. The E9 has four bright­ness modes plus strobe. The but­ton on the tail cap serves as the on-off switch, while the but­ton on the bar­rel al­lows you to cy­cle through the bright­ness set­tings. On low, the light still pro­vides 50 lu­mens for a 164-foot beam that pro­vides 14 hours of il­lu­mi­na­tion.
