HOLSTERING THE 856

Concealed Carry Hand Guns - - EXPERT’S CORNER -

The Blackhawk! pocket holster proved suitable for the 856 after a modest break in period. Moving to molded leather holsters, I had on hand a Galco Hornet crossdraw holster for the Colt Detective Special. It works OK with good retention across the cylinder. This is a versatile holster I like very much. For deep concealment, a good choice is the Galco Belly Band. This device allows secure carry inside the pants even without a belt. Quality is several steps above the common cheap bands, and the leather-lined holster may be adjusted to exactly the place on the belt you prefer, strong side, appendix or crossdraw. If desired, two handguns may be deployed with this system.
