Hang glider crashes in New Milford
NEW MILFORD — There were no serious injuries when a hang glider crashed in New Milford on Saturday.
A New Milford police dispatcher said the call came in around 2: 30 p. m. and first responders rushed to Ridge Road for a report of a plane crash. Those that responded found a hangglider that had crashed into the trees just off the roadway.
The police dispatcher said the fire department responded and quickly worked on rescue operations. Though police did not say how many people were aboard the hang glid- er, the dispatcher said there were no serious injuries involved.
There is an active investigation into what caused the hang glider to crash, the police dispatcher said.
The last time there was a crash of this sort in New Milford, it ended fatally.
More than a year ago, on Aug. 11, 2017, a plane crashed in New Milford, injuring the student pilot and her father, and killing 57- year- old Anthony Morasco.
