The Glass House’s on­go­ing se­ries at the New Canaan Li­brary con­tin­ues this month with a talk about mid­cen­tury graphic de­sign. Au­thors Steven Heller and Greg D’Onofrio, whose book “The Moderns: Mid­cen­tury Amer­i­can Graphic De­sign ( Abrams Books)” was re­leased in 2017, will delve into how mod­ernism shaped Amer­i­cans vis­ual en­vi­ron­ment in the mid- 20th cen­tury by ex­plor­ing the work of its prac­ti­tion­ers – home­grown and oth­er­wise. Any­one me­an­der­ing Stam­ford’s down­town will have seen the trans­for­ma­tion tak­ing place at Mill River Park. As part of ef­forts to bet­ter in­tro­duce its nooks and cran­nies to the pub­lic, monthly walk­ing tours, “River Me­an­ders” share in­for­ma­tion about about some of the park’s crit­ters as well as some spooky his­tory, as vis­i­tors take in the park’s nat­u­ral beauty.
