Dur­ing the lat­ter part of the 1970s, the late Michael Jack­son ex­pe­ri­enced a num­ber of firsts, in­clud­ing the re­lease of his first solo al­bum, “Off The Wall” in 1979, and his film de­but as the Scare­crow in “The Wiz” a year ear­lier. Area au­di­ences can re­ex­pe­ri­ence ( or ex­pe­ri­ence for the first time) the magic of that 1978 film with a screen­ing this month. Reel jus­tice

Since 1993, Jus­tice Ruth Bader Gins­burg has served on the U. S. Supreme Court. A re­cent doc­u­men­tary has delved into her life, in­clud­ing her early le­gal bat­tles for women’s rights, her work as a pro­fes­sor and her late- in- life in­flu­ence as a pop cul­ture icon who has be­come known as the “No­to­ri­ous R. B. G.” That new doc­u­men­tary, CNN Films’ “RBG” will be shown at the Green­wich Li­brary this month as part of the Friends of Green­wich Li­brary Fri­day film se­ries. Grace’s story

A new doc­u­men­tary about singer and per­for­mance artist, Grace Jones, is get­ting its Fair­field Coun­try de­but in Bridge­port. “Grace Jones: Blood­light and Bami” takes an ap­pro­pri­ately un­con­ven­tional ap­proach to the life and ca­reer of the Ja­maican cult per­former whose hits in­clude “Pull Up to the Bumper” and “Love is the Drug.” So­phie Fi­ennes’s doc­u­men­tary of­fers a por­trait of Jones “as stylish and un­con­ven­tional as its sub­ject.” Bi­jou Theatre, 275 Fair­field Ave., Bridge­port.
