Joseph W. Deutsch

Joseph W. Deutsch, age 92, for­merly of Fair­field, beloved hus­band of Theresa Quin­til­iano Deutsch, passed away peace­fully on Oc­to­ber 26, 2018. Born and raised in Bridge­port, son of the late Louis and Anna Koun­chal Deutsch, Joseph had been a Fair­field Town res­i­dent for most of his life be­fore mov­ing to Florida sev­eral years ago. He was a proud Army Air Corps Vet­eran of WWII, serv­ing as a Staff Sergeant on the B- 29 Bombers as Cap­tain of the Gun­ners. He flew many bomb­ing mis­sions over Tokyo to­wards the end of the war. Fol­low­ing the War, he went on to study Phar­macy at the Univer­sity of Con­necti­cut, and grad­u­ated with a de­gree in Phar­ma­col­ogy. Joe worked as a reg­is­tered Phar­ma­cist for Eth­i­cal Phar­macy and CVS for over 50 years un­til his re­tire­ment. Joe loved his dogs very much. He also en­joyed bowl­ing, fish­ing, and walk­ing on the beaches and in the parks feed­ing the wild birds there. He was an avid New York Yan­kees and New York Giants fan, as well as a his­tory buff. In ad­di­tion to Theresa, his lov­ing wife of 64 years, sur­vivors in­clude his sons, Joseph Deutsch II and his wife Ali­cia of Fair­field, Louis Deutsch and his wife Darcy of Litch­field and Clif­ford Deutsch and his wife Maureen of Naples, Florida. He leaves be­hind his grand­chil­dren Jes­sica and Joseph Deutsch and Faith and Brit­tney Deutsch, as well as sev­eral nieces and neph­ews. He was pre­de­ceased by his brother, Eu­gene Deutsch.
