An­thony Michael LaBarba, of South­bury went home to the Lord af­ter a heroic bat­tle with a long ill­ness on Fri­day, Novem­ber 9, 2018 with his fam­ily by his side. An­thony was born on Oc­to­ber 28, 1943 in Bridge­port, CT to the late Louis and Mary ( Pelosi) LaBarba. Af­ter grad­u­at­ing high school, An­thony started his long ca­reer in hair­dress­ing at Ricky’s in New­town, then moved on to South­bury where he owned An­thony’s of South­bury and later Su­san Michael Sa­lon. An­thony will be sorely missed by his two sis­ters: El­iz­a­beth “Betty” Petru­celli and her hus­band Michael of Mil­ford; and Glo­ria Arse­nian ( and her late hus­band John) of Mon­roe; sev­eral nieces and neph­ews; as well as his best friend Car­rie Hitze­grad. Be­sides his par­ents, An­thony was pre­de­ceased by his brother Louis LaBarba and his wife Joan, and his sis­ter An­gelina LaBarba. Friends and fam­ily are in­vited to at­tend a visi­ta­tion from 10: 00 a. m. - 10: 45 a. m. on Tues­day, Novem­ber 13, 2018, at Sa­cred Heart Church, 910 Main St. S. in South­bury. A Mass of Chris­tian Burial will be cel­e­brated af­ter the visi­ta­tion at 11: 00 a. m. In­ter­ment will fol­low at New North Ceme­tery in Wood­bury.
