Allen E. Wolfin­ger, Jr., age 82, of Bridge­port, died on Fri­day, Novem­ber 2, 2018, at Saint Vin­cent’s Hos­pi­tal. Mr. Wolfin­ger ( Al) was born in Bridge­port, where he was a life­long res­i­dent. He held many jobs through­out the area but was best known for his 30 plus years work­ing as the bar­tender at Testo’s restau­rant, where he ser­viced the com­mu­nity and friends. Al was an Air Force vet­eran, long- suf­fer­ing New York Mets fan, and vol­un­teer to nu­mer­ous city- re­lated func­tions such as zon­ing com­mis­sioner. He is sur­vived by his wife, Janet Wolfin­ger. Sur­vivors also in­clude two sons, Allen E. Wolfin­ger III, Shel­ton, and Steve Wolfin­ger, Boca Ra­ton, FL. Al also had a surviving brother and sis­ter, Thomas and Bar­bara Wolfin­ger, as well as four grand­chil­dren, a niece, and a nephew. Un­til the end, he main­tained friend­ships, kept cur­rent with na­tional and lo­cal news, and watched his beloved Mets on tele­vi­sion. Al re­quested his pass­ing be con­tained and memo­ri­al­ized by only his im­me­di­ate fam­ily. There will be no call­ing hours or vis­i­ta­tions.
