Nor­walk man to pay $1.4M to SEC

The Se­cu­ri­ties and Ex­change Com­mis­sion won a $1.4 mil­lion judg­ment against Nor­walk res­i­dent Den­nis W. Hamil­ton, two years af­ter he pleaded guilty to prof­it­ing from in­side in­for­ma­tion while a tax ac­coun­tant at the au­dio and ve­hi­cle “in­fo­tain­ment” sys­tem maker Har­man International In­dus­tries in Stam­ford. Hamil­ton had al­ready been sen­tenced to eight months in prison and ad­di­tional home con­fine­ment, as part of a par­al­lel crim­i­nal pros­e­cu­tion by the U.S. Depart­ment of Jus­tice.
