Colors for the Seasons

Don’t let the dread of tear-down prevent you from going all out this Halloween. “I’m keeping the striped porch all year,” says Julia. “Black-and-white patterns are versatile, but still fun!” For a chic Halloween theme that will easily work for other seaso

Black and white are two neutral shades that go well with any color scheme and season. Add deep purples, reds and oranges for fall, and bright colors in the summer. It matches everything!

Gold is a great accent color for multiple seasons, and it makes any style chic. Gold branches work well for fall, while gold ornaments will shine in the winter.

Brown adds a natural element with wooden pieces. A dark shade is an effective neutral for furniture if you don’t want to go black, and it will blend with flower patterns, acting as a softer neutral in spring and summer.

Green, whether dark or light, has the perfect spring/fall balance. Dark green will blend with the darker neutrals, and light green will translate well into summer greenery and flowers. During winter, you’ll just have to add red for a nice Christmas color palette.
